Some beasts have the most angelic face of them all...

Faced with her family's impending financial catastrophe, Roseann Gibson, daughter of the Baron of Croilton, must make a terrifying decision: witness her family's downfall or tutor a Laird's brother.

When his men return from patrolling the border, Domhnall MacBeathag, Laird of Greum Dubh, becomes certain that nothing will ever be the same. And it's all thanks to the beautiful English lady, who presents herself as a tutor.

When news of Scottish villages ransacked by British soldiers reaches their ears, their fragile happiness crumbles.

An old agreement signed in Scottish blood comes into effect and Domhnall has but a single, heartbreaking choice: if he wants to save his people from certain doom, he must marry a lady.

A lady who is not Roseann...

Maddie McKenna had always been passionate about Scotland. It all started with an old picture of her grandfather wearing a kilt and a sporran. She used to look at that picture and imagine stories taking place in the mysterious Highlands...

When she visited Scotland for the very first time, it was love at first sight. Both the country’s breathtaking landscape and the warmth and livelihood of the locals made her realize why her distinctive red hair was not the only thing that made her blend with them. She took her motherland’s memories back home to Minnesota, holding them forever in her heart while using them as an inspiration for her novels.

Maddie McKenna has a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing. She started writing articles for travel magazines but soon the romance world won her over. When she isn’t writing, Maddie loves painting and taking long walks with her hubby.

Join Maddie in the unforgettable world of brave Highlanders and their bonnie lasses—a world full of passion, intrigues, and steamy lovemaking, that will make you feel like you are part of the story yourself!

WOW!!! This book kept me on the edge of my seat until the end of the Extended Epilogue. The plot twists and turns were great. Characters were very well developed to the point where I really disliked Lady Sineag, her father the Laird of Lios, and Commander Eric Howard and was happy to see they all got what they deserved. Roseann went through quite a bit to have her HEA with Domhnall. So far this is my favorite book of the series. This is definitely one I will read again and recommend to my friends.

Excitement ,war and tragedy played an important part in this book. Lady Rosann, daughter of the Baron of Croclton, and Domhnall , Laird of Greum Dubb in Scotland, share a special love. There is sex scenes and murder scenes .Rosann went to be a teacher for Domhnall' s younger brother Cormac, who is twelve. I received an ARC ad this is my honest opinion.

This book is why I enjoy Maddies' stories.
Not a dull moment and lots of passion.
Interesting characters that make the story a delight and a
good story line that keeps you turning the pages.
Epilogues finished everything perfectly.

Renegade English troops terrorize Scottish borderlands. Though a treaty exists betweenDomhnall & the Laird of Lios subterfuge is afoot. Why is a betrotha necessary between two clans when it was made without the new Laird's knowledge? How can Roseann maintain her love for Domhnall when he must marry another? Is local treachery connected to the English?

As always, you books are amazing, hard to put down, with a great storyline, with anxiety to get to the next page but a hope that book will not end. Can’t wait to start your next book.
